meta.xml is part of indexing. it's in the meta folder of an installed game. I've never used cemu, but I do know the meta.xml. I don't know about invalid one, but if something is wrong with any meta file, even the icon, the game won't boot on the actual wii u. it will show a question mark tile with three question marks for game name.
